Using Advanced Filters
In this tutorial I am going to show you how to use filters using the ExtractEditor program. We are going to filter messages from amazon.com and save them to disk as PDF files.
Steps
1. Open ExtractEditorUsing MsgExtract open the ExtractEditor program by clicking on the “Open ExtractEditor” shortcut at the left. |

2. Insert a Batch Extract Job ActionThe ExtractEditor program will open. Click to insert a “Batch Extract Job” action from the actions list at the left. |

3. The Batch Extract Job Action properties dialogAt the Batch Extract Job Action properties dialog you can schedule the job to be executed at defined intervals. We are not going to use the scheduling features now. Press on Ok to close the dialog. |

4. Select a Gmail ActionClick and select a Gmail action from the actions list at the left. |

5. Login to Gmail Enter the email and password that you use to login to Gmail and then press on “load folders” to load the Gmail folders. |

6. Select a Filter ActionInsert a Filter action from the actions list at the left. |

7. Add a filter We are going to filter messages from amazon.com |

8. Select a True Filter ConditionNow select a true Filter condition from the actions list at the left and press ok to close the dialog. |

9. Select a PDF TargetFrom the actions list at the left select a PDF action. |

10. Fill the PDF properties dialogSelect the target folder where the messages are going to be stored and then click on ok. |

11. Select a False Filter Condition We are also going to setup a false filter condition that will save the messages that are not from amazon to a different folder and save them as text files. |

12. Select a Text TargetFrom the actions list at the left select a Text target action. |

13. Select the target folderSelect the target folder where the text files are going to be stored and then click on ok. |

14. The extraction job is ready The extraction job is ready to be executed. |
